Service and Parts Manager

Location: Livermore, CA, United States
Magnum Search Group has partnered with a leading manufacturer of heavy equipment. Together we are in search of a Service & Parts Manager to join their team in Livermore, CA. SCOPE and PURPOSE
  • Manages Field Service, Shop Service and Parts Operations at the Livermore facility. Independently schedules field and service activities to optimize customer satisfaction, meet sales objectives, while fully complying with company quality and safety standards. Responsible for the orderly organization of the shop, Finished Goods storage, and Parts storage in compliance with company objectives, standards and management direction.
  • Responsible for maintaining optimum Parts stock levels, and for maximizing parts sales within assigned region.
  • Responsible for implementing, maintaining and adhering to a disciplined process of estimating, quoting, and invoicing internal and external customers and departments for service and parts sales.
  • Responsible for the compliance of the site and all personnel with safety procedures and regulations as well as all regulatory and legal requirements.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Actively maintains and manages a schedule of shop and field service requests
  • Plans and schedules technicians to match available labor time resources, job requirements, while prioritizing safety and quality in conjunction with customer needs and the company objectives in terms of sales and customer satisfaction
  • Regularly communicates with customers to attract service and parts sales, understand customer needs, work out offers, quotations, and obtain written acceptance of such quotations
  • Manages timely invoicing, meeting set objectives
  • Manages the documentation process of all customer contacts, inquires and work projects from receipt to completion via assigned company systems and following procedures
  • Manages the safe and organized operation of the workshop, consistently meeting auditable standards and objectives
  • Manages the maintenance of all company equipment in accordance with set schedules and procedures
  • Organizes and maintains parts and finished goods inventories
  • Assists with the determination and maintenance of optimized parts inventory levels
  • Actively pursues and promotes parts sales opportunities with assigned customers
  • Receives customer service requests, assesses customer needs, complaints, symptoms of customer equipment; manages the diagnosis and development of repair solutions based on customer needs and resource availability; this includes, but is not limited to shop or field service repairs.
  • Coordinates work and requests with appropriate departments to optimize overall company objectives and results
  • Resolves product issues through effective identification, documentation, and communication with all affected parties.
  • Assists in maintaining technical manuals and documentation
  • Manages the maintenance of service department files and office records for the Livermore office
  • Assists in the development of operating and technical procedures and workplace instructions as required
  • Performs various other duties and activities as assigned by management
‚ÄčREQUIREMENTS
  1. Education and Training – Bachelor’s Degree in a mechanical, hydraulic or electrical machinery related field. At least 3 years experience managing Parts and Service operations in a retail or wholesale environment. Previous experience as a technician working on construction machinery, agricultural machinery or vehicles strongly preferred.
  2. Technical Requirements – Must have demonstrated experience in mechanical, electric and hydraulic repairs. Must have expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, CRM and Outlook. SAP knowledge and experience strongly preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills and verbal and written fluency in the English language. Must be willing and able to work overtime if required. Up to 25% travel may be required. Must have a valid pass passport and driver license.
