Service Foreman

Location: Sacramento, CA, United States
Magnum Recruiting has partnered with a leading heavy equipment dealer. We are in search of Service Foremen to join their teams in Anderson and Sacramento, CA.

SUMMARY:
Assist the Service Manager with running an efficient and profitable service department through productive staffing, customer retention, cost controls, achievement of objectives, and maintenance of all service records. Ensures that the daily inventory of technician’s time is consistently sold to service customers.
 
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists in overall service management responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work assignments when necessary; appraising performance; being a positive role model; disciplining employees in the absence of the Service Manager, addressing complaints and resolving problems in a timely manner.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Become familiar with company operations, the goals of the company, and understand your role in company activities.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and groomed appearance.
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace; maintain a clean and safe work vehicle if a vehicle is assigned to you. 
  • Fill out and maintain paperwork as described.
  • Perform job duties in a safe and efficient manner in order to protect yourself, other employees and company property. 
  • Do any and all things required for the successful operation of the company which is not limited to but may include additional duties, work schedule shift changes, relocation to other branches and any others.
  • Assist the Service Manager with hiring, motivating, training and coaching of all service department staff.
  • Monitor the performance of personnel using appropriate report, tracking systems and surveys and reports areas in need of improvement to Service Manager.
  • Strive for harmony and teamwork within the department and with all other departments. Promote Service Manager’s philosophy while managing department staff. Act as one with the Service Manager.
  • Assist with the implementation of marketing plans developed by Service Manager which promotes new and repeat business.
  • Understand and ensure compliance with manufacturer warranty and policy procedures.
  • Account for all documents; ensure that none are missing and all are processed correctly.
  • Oversee Work-In-Process status to maintain acceptable results as outlined by corporate office standards. 
  • Attend monthly department meetings and support Service Manager’s ideas.
  • Monitor technicians’ daily productivity reports and corresponding payroll records as directed by Service Manager.
  • Ensure that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean.
  • Ensure that customers’ service files are up-to-date and readily available for reference.
  • Prepare pricing guides and maintenance menus for frequent labor operations.
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to Service Manager.
  • Maintain professional appearance.
  • Promote company's safety culture and ensure the success of the program at the branch level.
  • Have good communication skills and professionalism both in person and over the phone with company employees, customers, and vendors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Two to four years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • It is required that the individual demonstrates decision-making, managerial, administrative, and supervisory organizational skills.
